Configuration of study programmes

Up to the academic year 2010/2011, students of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod enrolled the university undergraduate study programme in Production Engineering, which lasted for seven semesters. Upon completion of the sixth semester students opted for one of four orientation programmes: Product Design and Development, Production Logistics, Materials Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technologies. Upon completion of the undergraduate study programme „Production Engineering“and after defending final project students obtained minimum 210 ECTS.

Students that completed university undergraduate study programme in Production Engineering can either enter the labour market or continue with education within graduate study  programme in Production Engineering at the Faculty (three semesters), within some other graduate study at the Faculty (with obligation of passing additional exams) or within graduate study offered by other HEI in Croatia or abroad. Upon completion of graduate study and master thesis defence, a student is awarded minimum 90 ECTS.

From the academic year 2010/2011, student of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod enrol the university undergraduate study programme in Mechanical Engineering. University undergraduate study programme in Mechanical Engineering lasts for six semesters and after its completion and final project defence, student obtains minimum 180 ECTS.

After completing the university undergraduate study programme in Mechanical Engineering graduates can either enter the labour market or they can enrol the graduate study programme in Mechanical Engineering with one of four orientation programmes: Product Design and Development, Production Logistics, Materials Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technologies, or they can enrol graduate study at some other HEI in Croatia or abroad. Upon completion of graduate study (four semesters) and master thesis defence, a student is awarded minimum 120 ECTS.

Graduate study programmes can be enrolled by students who completed university undergraduate or professional study programmes at other HEIs (at akin technical faculties). Transition from other akin study programmes is possible under condition that a student takes additional courses in duration of one additional semester or one academic year, depending on the number of additional courses to be enrolled, or on the student workload expressed by ECTS.

Students who complete graduate study programmes and obtain minimum 300 ECTS can enter the labour market or they can continue with their studies (if achieving appropriate grade average and/or significant results in scientific research work) within one of postgraduate study programmes offered by the Faculty or some other postgraduate programmes organised by other HEIs in Croatia and abroad.

At the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod the following postgraduate study programmes are organised:

- Postgraduate professional study programme (90 ECTS) „Development of Products and Technologies“ with four modules: Materials Engineering, Modelling and Numerical Analysis of Constructions, Application of Production Procedures and Production Management, and

- Postgraduate doctoral study programme (180 ECTS) with three modules: Construction and Numerical Modelling of Products, Contemporary Production Management and Contemporary Production Procedures.
